If you are interested in being part of Zeta Tau Alpha, or any other Greek organization, you should realize there are fees associated with this. Somebody has to pay for all those Greek paddles and since Greek organizations are self sufficient it is the members who do so. And, while it is really cool to have all the Greek apparel and be part of a club it is not always cheap to do so. Here is a rundown of the costs, on average, of joining a Greek organization.
The membership dues are paid by each member. They are used to recruit new members, cater events, provide scholarships, and even for donations to special needs. The dues depend on the council’s chapter and even within chapters these may vary. For example, Panhel sororities have dues that are on average $639 per year but they range from $420 to $900. IFC fraternities have dues that average $800 but range from $600 to $1000. The dues range depending on the year and the size. The larger the chapter the lower the dues are. Many individuals who become part of a Greek organization will have quite a few dues that are one time only. There are some payment plans available, however, so individuals interested in being part of a sorority or fraternity can afford to do so.
